The South Central Communications leadership team
takes great pride in reinforcing our core
principles each and every day.
Quite literally, John was brought up above South Central Communications by his father, John A. Engelbrecht, and mother, Bettie G. Engelbrecht, since they lived above WIKY in Evansville, IN. In a small family company, John had many roles and became the single largest shareholder of SCC in the early 1970's. He then became Chairman/President/CEO in 1974 after the passing of his father. John now focuses on strategic aspects and acquisitions since he has turned day to day management of SCC over to his son, JP who became CEO in 2008. John is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. He is a Director of Vectren Corporation (NYSE: VVC), Deaconess Hospital, and the Evansville Museum of Arts & Sciences.
JP's first executive position came in 2000 when he became President of Boonville Broadcasting Inc. From there, JP was named VP & COO of South Central Communications in 2002 and CEO in 2008. JP attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where he received his degree in Management. He is a Director of Leadership Evansville, Memorial High School Friends & Alumni, Evansville Catholic Interparochial High Schools, USI School of Business Advisory Board, Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana, Habitat for Humanity Evansville, and the International Planned Music Association. He resides in Newburgh, IN with his wife Tammy, daughter Ellie, and dog Ginger. On the side, JP sneaks in time for snowboarding, wakeboarding, paintball, golf, flying, and reading. Bob is one of the most long tenured employees at SCC having served for over 30 years. He began as the Controller and then to the title of CFO/Secretary/Treasurer. Along with his oversight of the financial arena, Bob focuses his attention on risk management, corporate governance, and asset & cash allocation. Bob has been a trusted friend and advisor for over three generations of Engelbrecht's at SCC.
South Central Communications is honored to have such a strong group of independent Directors serving on our Board. This allows us to make sure SCC is operating at the highest ethical and competitive standards as well as to remind the owners and operators that we are all held accountable by someone. The Board, as you will see below, is comprised of some of the best and brightest in the regional business community.
